The weather was awful but we didn't mind. This inn is cozy and warm. Fireplace, library, comfy chairs, cookies.....just enough to recharge ourselves. Breakfast is exceptional and we are close to isolated walks along the waterfront and, best of all, Maine botanical garden. We will definitely return next year.

We just returned from a trip to Kennebunkport and I won't name the B&B we stayed in there but it was quite expensive. There was a lot of hype about the room and particularly about the breakfast. All the time I kept thinking how much superior the food at Five Gables Inn was. We even purchased one of their cookbooks... More

Our recent stay was our 15th or 16th - we've lost track, but each time is a treat. We have stayed in most of the rooms at least once, but prefer 10 and 14. The rooms are always sparkling clean and comfortable. Mike's breakfasts are legendary, especially his French toasts. You are truly fortunate to enjoy Creme Brûlée and Blueberry... More

Another lady and I stayed at the Inn earlier this month and by and large enjoyed our stay. We had the only twin room and it is really small - felt like cruise ship cabins we've been on! The bathroom was adequate but the shower was very, shall we say, friendly!Didn't want to spend lots of time in the room... More

Stayed at the Five Gables for only one night on the way from Belfast to Kennebunkport. Wish we'd been able to stay longer. Mike could not have been a better host. Full of information about the area and very friendly and helpful. Loved sitting on the porch in the afternoon with a book and again in the evening after dinner.... More

This review has been on my to-do list for some time now, ever since my first visit in September of 2011. The Five Gables Inn is FANTASTIC. This is the level to which all other B&B’s that I’ve stayed at should aspire to. Everything, from the property, to the owners Mike & De, to the food, to the location, is... More

This was our 5th year here and we still love it as much as the first time. We are not the only ones who feel this way since we see lots of people there we recognize from previous years. Mike and Dee are always warm and welcoming. They go out of their way to help my parents who are elderly.... More

A friend sent me to the Gables 16 years ago when Mike and De first became the hosts at this lovely B&B. When my wife and I had a chance recently to return to Maine with friends, I suggested we spend a couple of nights here. What a treat it was. Mike and De are the consummate hosts-warm and welcoming,... More

We have been guests at Five Gables every year for a long, long time and no matter where else we may have traveled between visits, we always know that this will be our favorite inn experience of the year. We feel so comfortable here that we consider this "our home away from home." Perfect hosts, perfect location, clean comfortable rooms... More

A great bed and breakfast on the Maine coast. Mike and De Kennedy are the perfect innkeepers. A half mile from East Boothbay, its location is quiet and feels special with great views onto the bay. The Inn was built as an Inn, not a house, over 100 years ago which gives it a different feel than most B and... More
