Our seasonal abode was not ready for us (April at the earliest) and we needed a place to stay to attend the annual Damariscotta Mills Fishladder Baked Bean Supper fundraiser. Alewives and Ale more than satisfied our desire for clean, convenient, and affordable accommodations. Just a short distance from my favorite downtown in America. If visiting in the summer, when... Alewives & Ales did not disappoint! We traveled with another couple and so had two rooms; both were very pleasant, clean, and had comfortable beds and baths. The house is welcoming, as are the hosts. Ray can give you a primer on small-batch ales (and maybe give you a taste) and Mimi provides a terrific breakfast so wake up hungry.... More

French toast and local bacon one morning, a delicious vegetable frittata and sausage the next. No tv in the rooms but there is a tv with a dvd player in a... More

This graciously restored historic home is pristine, comfortable and welcoming. There is a sitting room/library with a wood stove as well as two dining rooms where you can choose to eat privately or join other guests at a large table. The bedroom suites are lovely, thoughtfully decorated and equipped and so comfy! The food at breakfast was outstanding. I will... More

Excellent breakfasts and accommodations. Very clean and comfortable as well as tastefully decorated .The innkeeper was attentive without being in the way. We relaxed in the evening in the cozy sitting room by the gas fireplace. I'd highly recommend this B & B. We have been there twice and plan to return next year.

As a B & B goes this was nice. Breakfast was delicious and the hostess very hospitable. The room was nice but very basic. No tv in the bedroom . Coffee available anytime to help yourself. in the dining area. Nice outdoor patio if you want to sit outside on a beautiful summer day. Only spent one night there so... More
