We recently attended the Maine Maritime Academy alumni weekend, and found a wonderful room at the Castine Inn. The staff was friendly, the room clean and what you would expect for a nice inn. We had a great time sitting on the porch with other alumni remembering old times. The breakfast was well done with two hot entrees as well... More

This is more small boutique hotel than bed and breakfast. There are something like 26 rooms in the inn, and the breakfast set up didn't really encourage chats with the other guests as you would see in a smaller B&B. But it did have a nice charm to it, and it is a good choice in Castine. The room was... More

If the inn wasn't right in the village of Castine, I'd probably say it was too expensive, but its location and charm count for a lot. The room was simple and comfortable, if small; the breakfast good, even though only two choices were offered and nothing was unique. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We loved being able to... More

This is not a boutique hotel It is a totally charming old fashioned hotel with lovely gardens...beautiful wrap around porch.....perfect cozy tiny bar....the most beautiful breakfast room in Maine. A large room with windows to the garden and charming primitive murals on the walls with scenes of Castine. Other reviews detail the perfect breakfast. Get a room with a view... More

We have been visiting Castine Maine for several years now to see our son at the Maine Maritime Academy, opting to stay in Bucksport, what a mistake with the Castine Inn available right in the center of town!!! From our arrival Saturday night, through our departure Monday morning, we were treated to true hospitality and comfort. The location on Main... More

Indifferent service, maintenance, cleanliness, facilities, especially compared with the inn across the road. There doesn't seem to have been much effort or concern put into providing a comfortable vacation experience or making a guest want to return. More

This is a lovely place to stay! We booked at the last minute and they only had their lowest-priced rooms available. I have to say that is was quite a bargain. We paid almost twice as much for rooms that were half as nice elsewhere. I liked the teal-and white color scheme, which gave it a bright, fresh feeling. The... More

Castine is a wonderful picturesque village just south and far away from the madding crowd of Bar Harbor. The Castine Inn is well maintained and fun for an overnight stay. It feels recently renovated, rooms are large and very comfortable, clean, well priced and nicely decorated. The inn has a bar open from 4-10. We enjoyed wine on the large... More

My husband and I stayed at this Inn this last weekend. We planned a quick road trip and needed something quickly. We looked all over and everything was booked, except for a room at the Castine Inn. Since we were on a budget, they were so helpful in getting us a room that was not too expensive and still allowed... More

I hesitate to be too critical because we had a fun three days in Castine, a charming seaside village. And if you stay in Castine there are few lodging choices. The old Inn is well located and charming in a shabby genteel way (emphasis on the shabby). The staff was great--friendly and helpful. The rooms are the problem. There's no... More
