This disaster was recommended by the Bar Harbor Inn. The room had an ancient TV with bad reception. Someone created a closet around some baseboard heating which made the closet almost sauna hot. The overall condition features broken table glass, worn out table cloths with holes, etc. The service was almost non existent with only a cleaning lady available for... More

This inn is beautiful and the views are incredible from the east facing rooms. We stayed in the Balmoral room ($350 a night) which I believe has the best view of any of the rooms. The room was quiet and clean but lacking in amenities (the television was ancient as was the phone, though we didn't use either. The bathroom... More

The inn keepers never appeared. We had to carry our luggage to 3rd floor ourselves. At $350/night, this is a place to avoid. A standard room with a view of the street plus a kitchen staff that seemed terrified of something. But what?

My husband and I recently stayed 5 nights at the lovely Norumbega Inn in Camden, ME. We stayed in the Warwick room with beautiful bay windows looking out to a magnificent view! We loved the quaint homey feeling of the Inn which gave us a feeling of stepping back in time. The furnishings were lovely and the staff were very... More

This was highly reviewed in a print guide that we trusted, Moon. Shame on us for trusting paper publications and not checking further. The place is a beautiful facility that has been allowed to go to ruin. Few amenities, non-involved staff and pedestrian food (3 pancakes for breakfast and syrup and butter were a request). Way too much money for... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the basic rooms in the Norumbega over 4th of July weekend and fell in love with the place. I would have loved to stay in the Library Suite but it was a little too pricey for us - even in a cheap room it was about $330 for a 2-night stay. The... More

We booked a stay for our anniversary celebration months in advance, paid in full and now with less than a week's notice we were notified by voice mail that our reservation has been cancelled. This is completely unacceptable. I've never had such a thing happen in my life. I would not recommend this Inn to anyone after being treated in... More

We have been coming to Norumbega since our Honeymoon in October 1989. It was the first year that Murray Keating and his wife had reopened the Inn(purchased the year before I believe from the original owner who had turned property into B&B), and they were staying there as well. This year 2010 October will be the first year we are... More

We have not had a holiday in many years and decided to spoil ourselves with a night at the Norumbega Inn. Although a beautiful mansion and setting the room was small, the bathroom extremely small and difficult to access. The road at the back of the inn is extremely busy and noisy. Breakfast was not good, - no choices -... More

Our long awaited stay at Norumbega was everything we had hoped for - historic old home, plush accomodations, delicious food. We were upgraded to a beautiful, large room (without asking) and were greeted with a lovely tray of goodies in our room, as well as tea/coffee/soft drinks and cookies available at night in the diningroom. The room provided everything you... More
