I must say the food was great,Felt sorry for the chef listening to The owner belittling him as he was trying to have a conversation about the menu.Surprising he didn't walk out.The service was good but you could cut the friction with a knife everyone was on edge.Must see WilliamZN.He put it perfectly. The food is wonderful the owner not so.

We stayed only one night, and the place is very sweet. I know they have a restaurant that people love, but we ate in the "Irish Pub" which was actually the highlight of our stay. The Inn prides itself on its personal touch, and that it is not on many sites, and that's great. The owner is quite nice, too.... More

Didn't stay in a room, but did stop in for dinner one night. Food was excellent. Wait staff was friendly and competent. Nice atmosphere. Quaint and charming setting. I did get the impression that the owner was a bit of a snob. Perhaps we were not dressed up to his standards as we sort of popped in after a day... More

Lovely older home, beautiful setting, best part was the best meal we've had on this trip so far. I would go back just for dinner! Organic or local, great menu, great wine list. Also a meaningful breakfast. Have to be comfortable with a shared bath which worked out fine for us. 4 stars, not 5, only because of shared bath.... More

Once upon a time a place like the Brooklin Inn might have been common--small, intimate, welcoming and lovely. Coastal development everywhere in the world is rapidly putting an end to such finds. My husband and I arrived without a reservation, found a double room with a shared bath (but no one was in the other room, so it was private)... More

Everything was perfect - the room, the food and the hosts. We were only there for one night but had a great stay. The dinner in the restaurant was top notch and the wine selections were wonderful. Our bed and bath were both cozy and comfortable. I would definately go back if given the opportunity.

My husband and I don't normally stay in B&Bs because we both have problems with stairs and so many have double beds. We have some physical disabilities and double beds just aren't roomy enough. Anyway, they had a room with two double beds and a recent remodeled private bath. I don't think you see that in a B&B. It was... More

After reserving a room with the owner we found that the room had been given to another guest without even speaking with us befiore he did it! Giving us a free glass of wine as compensation hardly made up for the extra money we had to spend to get a room at a nearby more inexpensive hotel with a vacancy.... More

The Brooklin Inn was a quaint, out of the way, delightful place to stay. Our room was so homey and comfortable and we got a wondeful nights rest! The service was terrific, with a homemade breakfast waiting for us each morning we got up...all with yummy locally grown ingredients. We had dinner 2 nights in the pub and each night... More

One reviewer said.."Temper your expectations"... I agree. The rooms were dark and had little charm... There is a musty smell upstairs that you do quickly become accustomed to. The toilet are unique. I guess they are environmentally friendly... which would great.... but they have a NOISY MOTOR and flush them selves, sometimes repeatedly during a visit. No problem (other than... More
