This is by far a great hotel. Starting with very friendly staff. I helped my family evacuate to this hotel during Hurricane Gustav and the front desk staff (manager) was so very helpful. Bathroom was dirty. Tub had hair in it, shower curtains had who knows what caked & dried on the inside. Light shades had holes in them. Called the front desk and asked to have the bathroom cleaned. The receptionist came up with a squirt bottle & cloth to clean the tub...commented that she "just hated working with these little hairs".... more

The room reeked of smoke - even though I requested a non-smoking room -, there was a used wash cloth hanging from the shower rod, the carpet had not been vaccumed in god knows how long, and worse - when I pulled back the covers on... more

This hotel was very depressing. There were handwritten signs saying wet paint in the hallways, but it didn't look like they had been painted any time within the last 10 years. The non-smoking room REEKED of paint mixed with some other unidentifiable bad smells. I am used to some unpleasant smells in hotel rooms, but this was way past bad.... more

The Super 8 is not the dirtiest place I've ever stayed but it could use some more housekeeping attention. Only smoking rooms were available and our room did smell like an ashtray. Children ran up and down the halls, yelling and slamming doors. The a/c works great! There was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was acceptable. more

We arrived at the Super 8 because of Hurricane Katrina. I made reservations for the Super 8 because they "welcomed" pets. The hotel is older and needs some updating.
