We had stayed in a beautiful B&B in Lafayette, LA (T'Frerer's) for several years, so wanted to experience another. I called several months in advance to make my reservations. I spoke with Ann, the owner. She said even though she would be out of the country when we were there, she assured us that she had a very capeable staff to help us.

Well, when we arrived, the place looked rather "seedy." The grass needed to be cut, etc. and there was a "closed" sign on the gate! After making numerous calls, I finally contacted someone that could help.
Evidently, Ann didn't write our date down on the calendar (even though we had received a confirmation in the mail) and no one was expecting us! The person in charge was out of town. She told us she wouldn't be back till the next morning, but to search out the yard man to let us in. If he wasn't there, he lived next door, so to go there to find him.
His truck was at his house, but we couldn't raise... more
