This is a very nice TownePlace Suites and exceeded expectations. (I did not have high expectations based on prior experiences with this brand).
It appears to be recently remodeled. Everything appeared to be nice and new including the carpet. It had a 32" LCD TV (no HD though). Basic breakfast, and a basic exercise room but it is what I expected.
The staff was exceptionally friendly which was nice. I think the only con's to this stay was the internet - it was wired and low speed broadband (you could pay $$ for higher speed). I think they should think about making changes to that policy.
As far as where the hotel is located, it was about 15 minutes from downtown N.O. which was fine with us since we didn't want to stay downtown (there are actually other parts to NO than the French Quarter!). It is very close to restaurants and shopping so there is plenty to do but it is not close to any "tourist" type attractions.
