Our family just hosted two family reunions at the Best Western Forest Hotel in Franklin. The accomodations were wonderful. The swimming pool was crystal clear and the staff could not have been more accomodating. Our family enjoyed touring Oaklawn Manor, home of former Louisiana Governor and Mrs. M.J. Foster. Paul Newman has filmed several films at their antebellum home. In addition, our guests enjoyed touring the Grevemberg Museum. Old lampposts and gorgeous antebellum homes line historic Main Street. In addition, there are cute shops in the Historic District Shopping District. You'll enjoy cajun food such as crawfish etouffee, fried shrimp and wonderful gumbo. Franklin is beautiful! more

I stayed at this so-called motel. The prices are outrageous for the area. There is nothing to do there and there is only that one motel, besides this other rat motel down the street. The best part is the restaurant, which is still a litte crowded. If you want to swim, you may as well go to the bayou. The rooms on the front side look like a prison with no windows. And the rest of the rooms look like you are driving up to a pay by the hour sex motel. I don't like the fact that they over charge because they are the only place available.
