The Cook Hotel is located on the campus of LSU, which is great if you are doing business on campus. Otherwise, it is not located near any restaurants or shopping. You will definitely need a car to get anywhere. The hotel provides breakfast, but you are on your own for any other meals and there are no restaurants nearby. The... More

Have stayed at this hotel several times while visiting the LSU campus. It's perfectly located on the Lakeside Drive. Downside is it's very traditional and quite old, so amenities are sparse, our carpet was badly stained, the plumbing and shower power was not the best, and it's not inexpensive. We also found it very noisy being there at a busy... More

First class accommodation. Very clean and comfortable. In the grounds of the LSU. A car needed as the campus is out of town. Breakfasts were of a great standard.

Great location right on the LSU campus. Across the street from the LSU Lake with a great 4 mile running trail. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff.

I have lived not far from BR almost my whole life and had never even heard about this hotel. I LOVED IT!!! Very nice! Very clean! Very professional! My room was quiet but I was at the end....in the back. Also, I was not there on a game night, I was there on a Sunday night and most everyone checking... More

Pros: 1. The hotel is situated on the LSU campus and very convenient if you have meetings there. The hotel is also near the lake, but that by no means will guarantee you a lake view. I ended up looking at the building in front of the lake - and I suspect many others had my same experience. 2. Hotel... More

I stayed here 2 nights as part of a business meeting and in general, it's a good hotel, convenient to LSU, with easy access to a pretty park with paths and a lake. But, since I had no car, I found it difficult to really get around the rest of the city from here. The included breakfast was very tasty,... More

The rooms aren't exceptionally large but definately a good size. Since kitchen and sitting room areas are a bonus. Pool is fine, but that was not why I was there. Food at breakfast was very good. My brother and his family stayed here too and they thought it was great. I love the beautiful old campus atmosphere with with a... More

I stayed for 2 nights at the Cook Hotel for a job interview at LSU. I arrived early (around 11 am) and was checked in and given a room. I had a room with two double beds. I didn't make the reservation, so not sure if the preference was given for 2 doubles or 1 queen. The room was spacious.... More

The hotel was very clean, nicely decorated, quiet, and the beds (although very small) were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was adequate, not overly great, but good enough. Very good location--within walking distance of Pleasant Hall where our campus tour started.
