Location was OK - we're big walkers, so we don't mind having to walk too far to anything. We were only about a 10 min walk to 4th Street Live, so that wasn't too bad. The breakfast was great! AND, they have a gym - which is important to me, and often not found in budget hotels. More

Like other reviewers I agree this hotel has a good location if going to the Yum Center etc. With bridges closed in Louisville the traffic flow within this area at rush hour is horrendous. The Econo Lodge Downtown is a no hassles, no frills, good location, sleep only kind of place. My room came clean, with a TV, hot shower, and cold air conditioning. This hotel is cheap and convenient to downtown, esp. 4th street if you're just looking for a place to crash. I spent one night here before going across the street to the Marriott where a business conference I was attending was being held. I would recommend this motel to anyone as a less expensive alternative to the convention hotels (Marriott, Hyatt, etc.) in downtown Louisville. We had a good night's sleep in the quiet, well insulated room. The making of the bed was a bit sloppy but the sheets were clean.
