The location allowed views of tugboats and barges, a riverboat, and great sunrises. It's just north of a grain storage facility that was running often but isn't too noisy. The train tracks run behind the motel. and trains run at all hours. One obnoxious engineer blew his horn at 2 a.m. So it wasn't peaceful and quiet, but still a... More

We stayed one night on a motorcycle trip with four other couples. The hotel was very accommodating and put everyone in our group in adjoining rooms on the top floor. You will see from my photos this is not a luxury property, however, we really enjoyed our stay here. You cannot beat the location on the river and within walking... More

This is an older facility with an awesome location that they are renovating. Decent weekend breakfast selection. In the morning there was a towel on my motorcycle to dry the night dew. A real disappointment was the filthy bedpread - it's hard to believe that the housekeeping staff doesn't see the condition of the bedspread.

As other reviews have made clear, this is an old property that the current owners are apparently dropping some cash on to try to make a decent place again. I'll list the pros and cons: Pros: - Goes without saying, but the location is a gem. If you get a riverview room, you'll be hard pressed to wake up to... More

Nice location, right on the river, great views, walk into town. Clean rooms friendly owner, good prices. The motel is old, but the owner is working on it. Get a room on the second floor for a good view of the river.

I stayed at the Holiday Shores on a motorcycle trip with two friends. We reserved one room with two double beds and a roll away. When we called to confirm the reservation, the desk clerk told us their roll away beds were pretty old and uncomfortable. Instead, she gave us two rooms for the price of one! The hotel and... More

Very dated room decor but great town, great location, great view but come on. I was the only person in the entire building during a flood season and even though the management did admit the heating sytem was down they still charged me full price at ($65.00) because they had a 4x8 inch plug in heater box to replace the... We read the reviews before booking. We were on 2 motorcycles. Didn't want to stay across the river in Prairie Du Chien. Been there. Looking for some lazy river views. Got a room with a view. Back side of hotel. Had to park the bikes in the front (out of sight) but it had a paved lot. There were no... More

My Wife and myself spent a weekend at this place because it is right on the river.. Like others posted it's a Diamond in the rough, but the new owner is doing his best to fix this place up. New walkways, and decks, the rooms have fresh paint and some new windows. We had a ground floor room facing the... More

In other words, I plan to go back. The motel is old, but being remodeled. The view from most of the rooms is awesome. The price was reasonable. The managers, Carol & Terry, were the most attentive, accommodating, and friendly hotel/motel personnel that I have ever met. Whether you're a biker, boater, or just drive a car, this is a... More
