We attended a wedding at Four Mounds last week-end. It was the perfect location! Great views of the Mississippi, 2 beautiful and well-maintained old houses, lucious grounds and landscaping. The wedding couple said that the staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating in planning for the event.

The Inn is so beautiful and tasteful, we loved the casualness of it all. The innkeepers were so nice to us and made us feel like family. The rooms were very comfortable and since we were the only guests, we got to choose our own room. We will come back here again in other seasons too. The breakfast was great.... More

My wife and I recently stayed for just one night, but wished we could have stayed much longer. This sumptuous estate was wildly beyond our highest expectations. The accommodations and breakfast were amazing...we had to pinch ourselves to reemind ourselves that we were not dreaming ! Caretakers Marie and Liz were wonderful guides and down-to-earth conversationalists. At night it was... More

very lovely, very peaceful, warm & welcoming refuge. We stayed over in the White House w/ a view over the snow-covered, frozen river in bright clear light. A lovely romantic escape, a brief away-from-the-world feeling

My husband and I rented the Grey House and the cabin last weekend. We got married in the Grey House and it was so beautiful. The staff was great and the location was unforgettable. All of our guests were talking about the place for the rest of the weekend. The best weekend of my life in a beautiful place, it... More

I found this B and B on tripadvisor and, as usual, tripadvisor did not disappoint! This gem was a "gentleman's farm" built in 1908 by the Burden Family. The huge Craftsman-style home has about 7 or 8 bedrooms of various sizes and several with their own bathroom. All furnishings and decor are representative of this time period and many furnishings... My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stay here this fall. We stayed in the White House and had a suite that overlooked the Mississippi and surrounding woods. Very spacious and quiet, the suite was nicely updated but kept much of the original turn of the century charm. The breakfast was tasty and fresh, and the hosts were very friendly.... More

My friend and I had a wonderful stay in the White House at Four Mounds Inn. Everything about this place was perfect - from the beautifully refurbished home to the serene, wooded setting on the bluffs of the Mississippi River to the fantastic breakfast to the friendly and very helpful staff. The holiday decorations were beautiful and we especially enjoyed... More

What I have learned about Dubuque, Iowa and its great history Day 1 As it was only our second time going to Dubuque, I wanted to make it special so my husband David took an extra day off so we could make a mini-vacation out of it for my birthday, which is September 11. The first day we were there... More

This is a great spot for a family reunion. We rented the whole house and had use of the great kitchen. I would love to go back there and spend a long weekend with my husband in the cabins or other house too. It's a beautiful secluded peaceful place. The staff was so unobtrusive yet always around for questions and... More
