Dirty public areas; shabby furnishings; dirty exterior doors and wndows, smelly halls. Room was not too bad (except for shabby furnishings, including holes in chair upholstery). Had we not been so tired, I think we would have looked for another hotel, even though had pre-paid. more

The hotel was nice, clean, and the staff was very polite. The rooms and pool were clean. Nothing super fancy great price and comfortable beds. Breakfast from 6-9 a.m. was very good. Choices of cereals, breads, rolls, donughts, danishes, eggs, and biscuits & gravy. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. more

For $50 government rate, it was just fine. The breakfast wasn't anything special, but it was hot and ready on time. The room was clean and quiet, although you could tell it had seen some wear. We stayed at the Quality Inn on Merle Hay in Des Moines just last night. I implore you, DO NOT stay at this hotel....unless you like musty rooms, smoke in the non-smoking hallway, sub-par customer service, cigarette burn marks on the bathroom counter of a non-smoking room, mold and peeling grout in the bathtub, pullout couches that are a pain... more

It is right off the Highway close to downtown, gas stations and restruants. The rooms were clean and the front desk clerk in the evening was very nice. Breakfast was free and a good start for the day. I would stay there again. more

Have stayed here a few times all with mediocre results. The double rooms have queen beds which is a plus but do not have fitted sheets which drives me nuts. This is a two story hotel with no elevator, so may present problems for some. The pool and hot tub didn't appear the cleanest but they have gray tile in... more

There was no Quality here. Located adjacent to the I-80 on ramp. If you like the sound of accelerating Harley's and Semi's...stay here. Continental breakfast was pre-wrapped rolls, dry bagels, dry cereal, left out fruit.
