I spent days searching the web for nice, yet inexpensive hotels to stay in Des Moines for the 4th of July. We chose this hotel due to the outdoor pool and other positive ratings/reviews. We were awfully disappointed to see that the pool was tiny and dirty and our room was even worse. The room was damp and smelled of mildew. The carpet sort of kissed the bottoms of our bare feet, because it was also damp and sticky. We've gone on many trips over the last few years and this is one of the worst hotel experiences we've encountered. I'd even recommend the Motel 6 across the street, because at least you'd probably get a clean room. more

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. The majority of guests are satisfied with the sizze of our pool. Sorry to hear you weren't satisfied. The outdoor pool is a nice place of relaxation. The size of the pool couold not be expanded but it does take up a nice width of the outside courtyard. Guests usually are satisfied, but...

If you are looking to save money but stay somewhere clean and safe, this would be the place. From the outside and the hallway it does have that motel feel, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. I'm a picky person and I would stay here again. more
