Very nice and the people were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and the rooms were comfortable and clean and big. We also ate dinner at their restaurant one night- excellent!

I've always stayed in Shipshewana at what is now the Van Buren - but will transfer my affections to the Essenhaus hotel. I grew up in northern Indiana and always pick the Essenhaus for a return visit. The rooms are large and always clean, barhrooms are immaculate, additional sink and refrigerator is a nice touch also. Check in is always easy even if they are busy. It is not as easy to get in any more as they are getting more popular.... More
