Stayed here in June 2009 for a long weekend. Someone was having a wedding in the hotel, but the very friendly front desk gave us a room away from the festivities, and we never heard a thing! Many problems. Although renovated, the plumbing is old and the drains are slow. Mechanicals (heat/fan) were still old and noisy. Lots of noise in hallway, noise from street (no soundproofing). Room/hallway was stuffy and smelled of smoke. Staff was not interested in solving any problems. I would have gotten a better room in a Chicago crack house. more

I booked here during a snowstorm and was greeted with uber-pleasant front desk people, not to mention the equally friendly employees at the hotel's restaurant, Boston Blackies. Beds are totally comfortable and un-grimy, decor is very tasteful for a hotel room--nice and basic (no Holiday Inn plastic-y ugly floral comforters here). This hotel was our second choice as well as we usually choose Hampton Inns. Unfortunately, the Hampton Inn nearby was sold out. We booked a last minute stay at this hotel because our favorite hotel was full. As an alternate, it served its purpose, but we will stay at our preferred hotel (Hampton Suites) whenever possible. This hotel gets very high marks for having very comfortable beds. However, the rooms are fairly cramped; and we missed having a refrigerator in the room.... more
