Living just 5 minutes Away but having never been to Cockatoo Island, we implore everyone to get there. The accommodation was amazing....fully fitted out, fully functional and including all the small things. The view!!!!! To die for and the island iteself was fully of history and wonder. We could not recommend more highly spending a night in 23C...a one bedroom... More

The location is simply magnificent. Ten of us visited Cockatoo Island for a family celebration, staying two nights in Building 24A. Several dozen day-trippers joined us in one of three large meeting rooms which can be hired for this sort of event elsewhere on the island. The island provides spectacular views of much of the harbour foreshore, including the Harbour... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in a tent package and loved the ambience, views, location, history and particularly the relaxed character of other people staying there. Great bathrooms and shared cooking facilities too. Well worth a visit for locals and visitors alike.

After a bit of organization, not on my part, it was Cockatoo Island for a family reunion. We booked out the Historic houses for the weekend, happen to coincide with the closing weekend of biennale. The accommodation was great, the homes more than comfortable with a self cater affair. Tennis overlooking the harbour bridge, seemed like a Nike TV tennis... More

Cockatoo Island is a great place to spend a day and overnight if you have time. Sydney harbour-side real estate is ridiculously over-priced and staying here gives the "ordinary" person a chance to sample harbour-side/harbour-view living at a tiny fraction of the cost of those souls across the river who have had to shell out large wads of money for... I stayed 3 nights with friends in house 24B and we were blown away by the house itself, which is more than comfortable with every amenity provided, by the view, and the ease of travel by ferry. We stayed on the island and relished the quiet to read and relax, but using ferry or water taxi you could use the... More

We stayed three nights mid-week in building 24. The rooms were beautiful, with a mix of heritage and contemporary furniture and decorating. Two of the upstairs bedrooms had panoramic views of the harbour and it was tempting to sit and stare out the window all day. Three TVs meant everyone could find something to watch / play. A range of... More

I stayed in 24B for several days and nights in the down-season. I was prepared for something fairly basic given the heavily industrialised surrounds, but I was thrilled on arrival. Large, comfortable, well-maintained rooms, gorgeous gardens and treed surrounds and stunning river/harbour views. I pretty much spent the three days snuggled up on the balcony losing myself in the history... More

I stayed one night with a group sharing 24A, B and C as a hen's weekend. I thought it would be quite spartan and institutional but boy, were we all surprised. It's a magical location that captures Sydney so perfectly. The view back up the harbour to the Bridge is amazing. The grounds and buildings are fascinating. The staff are... More

We stayed at house 24A mid-week for 2 beautiful nights with a group of friends. How special this place is on a balmy autumn night sitting under the lilli-pillies looking back to the harbour bridge with a yellow moon on the rise over the city. Fruit bats flew in silently to chatter above our heads. You will love this place... More
