I took my husband here for his 40th birthday and a romantic get away. I reserved the king bed junior suite which on there web site says in the description 1 King Bed. River Side Junior Suite. No Smoking Permitted. Some rooms have Fireplaces. Most suites have a Sofa Bed. All suites include Jacuzzi, High Speed Wireless Internet Access, Microwave,... more

We recently stayed here for a wedding. Many members of my extended family also staying... while the wedding reception and food were great, the hotel service was awful! When we checked in, they had to run down to a room to make sure it was clean, it seems most hotels have a way to know if a room (that was... more

. . .a rather lengthy title, but pretty much says it all. We dined in the restaurant, had breakfast enjoyed the spa tub, and the wonderful riverside views. All was excellent! Sincerely, Robert and Lorna R. Cobb more

Im not a picky traveler , so when I read the reviews about the mold and the tacky bedspreads I figured I could deal with the bedspread and if I got a moldy room we could leave. There were good reviews here also and the river aspect was appealing, as well as a little bit of history rather than a... more

Stayed at Lexington Cliffbreakers on the way to Door county. Had a very nice, large room for $78. Dinner and drinks at their restaurant were excellent, as was the service. Breakfast was okay. Pool was very nice. On our way home from Door County we decided to stay there again. My daughter and her family were traveling with us and... more

We're so glad you had such a great time at Cliffbreakers (both times) and that we were able to make your birthday dinner. The deck overlooking the river is one the most popular places on the property. It's a great place for dinner or a casual evening drink. We often have live music on weekends and hope you'll be back...

Everytime I have checked out of a hotel the front desk asks me "how was everything?" Well the staff at Cliffbreakers must be trained not to ask this question because they most likely know what the response will be. First, the hotel is old, outdated, and just plain tacky. We paid over $100 a night (which I realize is not... more

We're sorry the room did not live up to the expectations of this guest (or our hotel). We understand this was frustrating and apologize. Due to the beauty of our facility, the views of the river and the many antiques throughout the property we’re a very popular choice for many of the area’s weddings. This weekend we were very full...

Our family stayed at this hotel for over a week while working with Habitat for Humanity. The general manager bent over backwards to make sure our stay was wonderful. Food was very good. Very personable staff, not your average run of the mill hotel. Love the charm of the hotel. Would highly recommend to others. more

We're so pleased that you had such a great experience. Our French Executive Chef, Philippe, is the best in the region. He has totally re-worked the menu, we have upgraded the hotel (now with double the river-view tables) and we have a great new wine list (believed to be tops in the region). We're keeping the menu fresh and there...

I booked this hotel via HOTWIRE and what a deal! We had the bi-level suite which was exactly as the previous review stated, two full baths, micro, frig, fireplace, kitchen table and 3 chairs, sofa sleeper, easy chair, upstairs a very comfortable king size bed. Very large suite, quiet with a view of the water. Room was extremely clean along... more

Great to know you enjoyed your stay so much. Many prospective guests do not know about our whirlpool suites or our bi-level suites (great for families with kids). We've invested in great new bedding (pillow top) and have very upscale towels and bathroom amenities. Of course, we're proud of what no other hotel in the area can boast -- our...

We came to Rockford from south central Wisconsin for a weekend getaway and selected Cliffbreakers Lexington Hotel because the hotel’s description on the internet sounded interesting. We stayed in a “king bi-level suite” on the river side. The room was absolutely awesome. We had never stayed in a hotel room that spacious before. It felt more like a townhouse apartment... more

Thanks for letting us know how great your experience was and noting the care you were given (and deserve). Our staff has worked hard to make many positive chances recently. Our new Executive Chef does a great job. Have you seen the new wine list?? It's worth a trip -- best in the Rockford region. We've also got a new...
