Stayed here for weekend to attend a surprise 50th wedding anniversary in March. Very warm welcome on arrival, rooms spotless and well equipped.Down side wifi would only work downstairs in bar! Hotel was full on Saturday night with family & friends from all over the country.Maybe a word of caution, someone had used a room number for a tab to purchase a... More

I was booked into this hotel on business, and had no idea of the hotel. On arrival, I was warmly greeted by two very friendly receptionists, and was asked if I wanted taking to my room. The room itself was lovely and spotless, with one of the comfiest beds I have slept in. The view from the window was very... More

Bit of a mixed review really. Booking in was swift but seemed to be missing all the normal information you are usually given like 'what time and where is breakfast'. Opened our room up to find no cot, twin beds & a shower where as we had booked completely the opposite to this& had recieved confirmation. However they brought the... More

I attended an evening function here and (having looked at the hotel website) decided to stay overnight. There doesn't seem to be an online booking facility yet, so it was a telephone job. The meal at the function was excellent considering 200 people were being served. Food was plentiful and hot. Bedrooms are great. Very warm through the night though,... More

When my husband suggested a visit here for diner, I thought he had taken leave of his senses. A visit a few years ago was so bad it still remains a family joke. However, the new owner has completely transformed this place into a beautifully stylish hotel, restaurant and function/conference centre. The staff were absolutely delightful, the food divine -the... Stayed here on the Valentines Package and was very impressed. The reception area is stunning, the rooms are very well appointed and well finished. Dinner was fantatsic but the only thing that wasnt 5/5 was the food and service at breakfast. Although overall thought it was superb and would highly recommend

We enjoyed a birthday celebration lunch here last week and were pleasantly surprised, having never eaten in the hotel before. The building has been completely refurbished to a VERY high standard and although we did not stay over, we were given a tour of a room which looked most impressive also. Indeed I believe that the hotel would be a... More

We got married in the Dumfries arms hotel in November! The wedding coordinator Nicola from the start was extremely helpful! She was a great contact in terms of organising the big day and couldn't help us enough! Also the manager louis on the day also was a toast master and everything ran smoothly and seamlessly! The whole team were nothing... More

Visited the DA for a meeting on Wednesday and it definately has the "wow factor". The perfect venue for a wedding or meetings/seminars etc.. Different days from when Robert Burns spent a night there. He complained about the hardness of the beds I hear. With places to stay such as Dumfries Arms, The Royal, Lochside House, The Old School; Nith... More

Stayed here overnight at a friends wedding. First impressions were that the building and grounds look neat and well maintained. The reception area was very modern and clean - receptionist and all the staff were very polite and helpful. The bar was well stocked (most importantly) and the drinks were pretty reasonable for hotel prices. Our room was well laid... More
