There are several requirements that constitute a "Good Stay". The most important points are: 1) Must Have clean rooms and 2) a friendly staff! This motel has always made the extra effort to make my stay enjoyable. I appreciate the helpful, experienced staff. I have been a Hilton Diamond for many years and stay almost exclusively at Hilton properties. This facility was an elegant older hotel that has been totally updated and also has an attached restaurant (locally owned) with full service bar and restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the lobby of the eight-story Freeport Hampton. The lobby was warm and welcoming and the front desk clerk was exceedingly cheery and helpful. We stayed for three nights over the Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful stay. The hotel was recently renovated and was like new! The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. We checked in late at night after our flight was delayed, and the woman working the desk offered to put on a pot of coffee for us.... more

If you are visiting Freeport IL and need a Hotel ,stay here. Everthing is new. Furnishings ,carpets,lobby.The downtown area is somewhat depressing ,but the Hampton Inn on Galena Ave is one of the nicest Hampton Inns you will find anywhere. more
