We stayed at the Super 8 - Franklin Park for a 3 day weekend in February 2006. As we approached the hotel, we thought the area was a bit on the shady side but we were not afraid. Just a poorer side of town.

We visited the Super 8 South (to save money) on February 12, 2005. The hotel is not in the best area but we didn't know that until we got there. The parking garage is underground and kinda spooky.
