I didn't book this hotel, a family member did as a bunch of us flew in for a wedding. If I had to spend more than 36 hours there I would have left for somewhere else. This hotel, which I actually saw on some websites had 5 stars, was a dump. It was more like staying in a college dorm... more

Just not a great location for Chicago. I moved hotels after two nights to a Marriott that was very central off of Michigan Ave for the same price. The room I got stuck in was pathetic for a Grand Hyatt Hotel. more

Dear tcouncil, I must say that I was surprised to read your review as many guests request our corner rooms because they prefer the layout. Regardless, I'm very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us in October 2008. We have made many upgrades to the hotel since then. I hope you are having a great day in...

As many before me have mentioned, this is a great hotel for the convention center - you don't even have to go outside. If the reason for your trip is a convention, then I think it's the best possible choice. I attended a conference in Chicago and stayed at this hotel as well as the Hyatt Regency on Wacker (the... more

Dear boomboomroom, Thanks for your great feedback. I will be discussing this with the front office. We would never want anyone at the front desk to answer a guest's question with "I don't know" especially simply questions such as the Metra. I apologize for the trouble with your FedEx package. I'm glad you had confidence in us to take care...

I showed up kind of tired at the desk last Friday night and the woman who checked me in somehow intuited that I needed a break. She was a lifesaver... gave me a gorgeous room (2533) which was a corner suite with breathtaking views on three sides. I spent the first night just glued to the windows, enjoying room service... more

The good: Housekeeping was superb. The clothes I accidently left on the bed were folded and placed on the desk. The hotel connects to the convention center. If you're attending a conference, it's nice to get to the conference in under 5 minutes. The lobby is pretty modern/nice and full of extensive groups of comfortable couches--perfect for doing work or... more

Dear Michael30309, I was very sorry to read to your review of us. Unfortunately we do have satellite TV, which sometimes causes us to be a victim to Mother Nature just as anyone else. I'm terribly sorry that this and the Internet service caused you inconvenience during your stay. With 4 elypticals, 4 bikes, and 7 treadmills, we rarely see...

the hotel and room are clean and new and moden. no question about that. BUT it's so far! you end up paying all the money you save on taxis, buses, and trains anyway. the free shuttle they provide only drops you off in 3 locations. you have to find your own way back. and they dont start running until 11am!... more

Dear LosAngelesVivian, Thanks for taking time out of your day to comment. I'm sorry that our free shuttle was not running until 11am during your stay. We have changed our shuttle schedule to include more 9am and 10am shuttle runs. Thanks you again for your comments and for your business! Best regards, Liz Finifrock Guest Experience Manager

We booked our trip through priceline and got a great deal on our room. Upon entry, the hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Our surprise came when we saw our room. We were on the 15th floor and had a beautiful view of the Chicago skyline!!! The room was very clean- the toiletries were a nice... more

Dear Melissa1233, CONGRATULATIONS!! What an amazing memory to have made right here in our hotel! I'm sorry for the confusion with the parking. We are currently working on upgrading our system to allow for in/out privileges with the self-parking as well as the valet. I'm certain the work on the upgrade must've led to the confusion on the part of...

Good location to Bear game/ shed aquarium/ museum. No in/out parking sucks. Overpriced for the room quality. more

Dear Delos123, Isn't it a nice walk up the lakefront to Soldier Field and museum's campus? I'm sorry that you felt that we are not a good value. We're currently working with Standard Parking, our parking garage operators, to soon be able to offer in/out privileges with self-parking as well as the current valet. I hope this will help your...

Stayed here for 2 nights in October 09 for a convention taking place at the McCormick place convention center connected to this hotel. I'll tell you, it's very convienent to be at this hotel for conventions but I'm not sure why you'd want to stay here for any other reason. The hotel itself is nice, clean and spacious. The lobby... more

Dear Schneiks, Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your convention. Chicago is an expensive city, and we do our very best to try to balance a good value for our guests while, as you mention, remaining on par with our competitors. Our attached parking garage is owned by the city of Chicago and operated by Standard Parking....

I took my family with me on a business/leisure trip. We arrived at the hotel after 7 pm to find they did not have any standard rooms. Apparently one of their guest decided to stay another day. The hotel offered to take us to another location or give us the living room section of a suite. We took the suite... more
