It's one (long) block from the heart of the Boystown bars/clubs/restaurants and there are plenty of GLBT friendly restaurants and bars on the same block. By Chicago standards it's close enough to walk to the stadium or to the shore -- but cabs are easy to catch if you're not enthused about that much exercise. In the heart of Boystown/Lakeview, everything you could want is within walking distance. Walk out the front door and walk down Hawthorne Place one block and you can hop on a bus to downtown Chicago on North Lakeshore Drive.
