My husband and our son recently stayed in the Windy City Urban Inn booking the Bill Zehme Suite. We booked a carriage house apartment expecting enough room for three adults. The reviews posted on Trip Advisor gave the inn exceptional ratings. We were disappointed. The inn is in need of a visit from Extreme Home Makeover. Our suite seemed as... More

Very good quiet mansion in a nice and alive district. Large suite like a little independent house in agarden. Comfortable beds, charming bath rooms. Warm welcome from the owners. Very good taste. To recommend to families including with two big boys. More

This is an accomodating and beautifully decorated Victorian inn. It is run more as a self-service guest house than an upscale B&B but still offers many unexpected perks. I stayed there for a few days visiting my son at the nearby university, and doing some sightseeing. I already knew the neighborhood from prior visits, and was pleased that the downtown... More

I spent just one night at the Windy City Urban Inn and was sad to leave-- it was just so pretty and comfortable and spacious, and I really enjoyed chatting with Mary over coffee in the morning and then reading the NY Times in one of the two (three?) living rooms. The bedding was awesome-- I think I slept like... More

After all the hype and great reviews, I was extremely disappointed in this b and b. The rooms were nice and large but need updating badly. Our apartment had a big hole in the wall where the cable should have been, the bath tub was cracked with dirt coming out when the jacuzzi was turned on and things were just... More

We just returned from a fantastic trip to Chicago and a fabulous stay at the Windy City Urban Inn. We booked our plane tickets before checking on hotel prices only to discover that we had chosen Marathon weekend as our weekend to visit Chicago! The WCUI was the only reasonably priced accommodations we were able to find and we were... More

Stayed their on business while attending a trade show at McCormick place. We had two rooms which both were lovely. Breakfast was self service and a good variety. There was one room without a private bath so make sure if that is important book accordingly. The Inn is a short walk to a bounty of restaurants and shops, approx less... More

We spent three nights here in June, and were in general pleased, although not overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the owners were not there, and the atmosphere was therefore not so personal as you expect from a guesthouse. A few mistakes were also made, especially a rather brutal check-out, which turned down the overall impression. The housekeeper had other guests arriving 11 AM,... More

My fiance and I stayed here for 2 nights last weekend and had a wonderful time!! We stayed in the Algren and De Beauvoire room, which was perfect! It was quite large, had a large bathroom with shower and whirlpool tub. The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotless. The common areas were very comfortable and were supplied with... Staying at a downtown Chicago hotel would have been the easy thing to do, but experiencing what it may be like to "live" in Chicago was half the fun. WCUI is 1.5 blocks west of the nearest major street, (Clark) so just getting there drew my wife and I into the essence of Lincoln Park. We relied on the CTA... More
