Comparing to the room rate,I think it was Very Good experience.Below are the cons:
-The carpets and furniture are old.
-lighting in the second building across the street is gloomy.
-The breakfast is not as I though would be comparing to what the website says; in terms of variety and bounty.
-Neighborhood is not the best where you can be....

Stayed for 3 nights at house of 2 urns. Really enjoyed everything about the B+B. Kapra & her Husband are great hosts and very knowledgeable not just on Chicago but on surrounding cities and states which helped us a lot as we were moving around. Superb facilities, nice bed, quiet room in the building across the street, and every amenity...

Glad you had a good visit in our great city! You are right that the communal breakfast table is a very common arrangement at B&Bs in the states. You happened to be here during what I called "International Week" as we had a very wide range of guests from around the world and midwest: Korea, France, Cameroon, Japan, India, Ireland,...

This was a wonderful place with lots of character and very homey feeling. I still miss the homemade breakfasts. The rooms are fantastic, and there is a livingroom area, outdoor balcony area, kitchen area so you can cook, super cute victorian vintage style. Close to the subway to get to the city as well, and nice restaurants in a hip...

Stayed at Two Urns with my sister to visit our younger sister who lives a few blocks away. We stayed in the Chambre de Amis rooms in the annex building. The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated. The common area was spacious also. The staff and owner were friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were excellent. Conveniently located near public...

I recently stayed at the House of Two Urns while attending a 1-day seminar in Chicago. It was centrally located between downtown and the suburbs, and there were food and entertainment places within walking distance. My room was spacious, clean, and felt more like visiting a family member than being in a strange room. I had the large room on...

Excellant choice for a comfortable, beautiful, clean, quiet B&B in Chicago. Breakfast is delicious and beautifully presented. Everything served is homemade from banana lavender jam to Kapra's Croque. Easy parking and entrance. Safe neighborhood. Comfortable beds and new nice bath.

Overall we were pleased with our stay at the House of Two Urns. The price and location were good and we enjoyed looking at the Chicago themed books available. The breakfast was good, too. The hot entree was a bit small but tasty and cereal, toast, and bananas were available if chosen. The bed was comfortable but it was a...

I was a bit disappointed in the location, not close to downtown, kind of a rough area on the edge of an industrial area. I didn't find the hostess particularly friendly or helpfull. Our room was very small, although the bed was very good and the linens were very good too. Breakfast was completely adequate, trying to be gourmet but...

I am sorry you were disappointed in our location, service and breakfast. Goose Island, to the east of the Kennedy Expressway, is a designated industrial park, but west of us on Division Street is a very lively residential area filled with great restaurants and boutique shops - this extends up Milwaukee Avenue to North/Damen where there are lots of restaurants,...
