The Flemish House is gorgeous, comfortable, perfectly-located and has fabulous hosts! If I could give more stars for this B and B, I would. My husband and I came for our anniversary celebration and were joined by our son and his girlfriend. We all are gushing over our digs at the Flemish House. One could ask for nothing more in... More

My wife and I stayed at the Flemish House for our anniversary and it surpassed our highest of expectations. The location is perfect with immediate access to Rush/State Street and the Michigan Avenue/Oak St. areas. Even better was the beautifully restored and wonderfully decorated Flemish House. We felt that we were staying in our own brownstone apartment since we had... More

I stayed at the Flemish House Hotel B&B in November, 2010, in the Garden Suite. I was a bit concerned, as it is a below ground suite (ie: basement). However, the apartment was lovely, very comfortable and there was sufficient natural light. We also liked the private entrance. The host, Mike, was wonderful and while he certainly respected guest privacy,... More

The innkeepers were accomdating in my late-evening arrival. I found the place pleasantly set up with food in the refigerator and tolietries in the bathroom, which you would expect in a 5-star hotel. What I found extremely beneficial was the size of the room, it's more like an apartment, and the character and decor of the place. It gives you... More

As soon as our cab turned down the street I knew this was going to be so grand and it was! From the lovely, quiet, architechturally stunning neighbourhood, to the personal hand written notes from the apartment owners, this was a home away from home which made our 5 day trip so delightful. The building is loved, the restorations are... More

We have enjoyed this comfortable, well-maintained BnB on 3 or 4 occasions for a weekend or for a week. It is not a typical BnB in that there is no common area. Each of the studios and one bedroom apartments has a it's own kitchen and bathroom. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished and the proprietors are knowledgeable about the wonderful... More

This was an absolutely beautiful historic home to stay at. Mike was wonderful and made us feel right at home. Everything was explained about the room and then he respected our privacy. The room was so lovely to come home to in the afternoon and so close to restaurants and the navy pier - only a 15 minute walk. Plenty... More

nothing is far from the place (restaurants, shops, bars, public transportation,...). we were just disappointed by the breakfast, you take it in your room, and can stay there without seeing anyone, except for checking in/out. More

We have stayed at the Flemish house a few times, and it's always impressive -- beautiful rooms, wonderful location, and generous hosts. My daughter loves the goodies they stock the fridge with, and I love the beautiful and relaxing aesthetic that pervades this amazing place. Easy to see why it's tops in Chicago. More

Mike was fabulous at welcoming us, responding to questions, and giving us privacy. I was in Chicago for a conference but had leisure time, too. My husband was completely on vacation. Flemish House gave us a spacious, quiet, and comfortable home for the 6 nights we were in Chicago. I could walk to my conference at Loyola, to the Mag... More
