I was in town for business with one of my business partners and stayed at the University Club. The Front Desk staff was very helpful and hospitable and let me check into my room a little before check in. I was in a standard room with one double bed. The room was very tiny and was clearly very old. There... More

I stayed at the University Club during a business trip. The hotel is located adjacent to Millennium Park, and only a few short blocks to the lake. I took a cab to get to the hotel, but there's convenient public transportation to the hotel as well. The service was very good. The room was vintage and elegant - the bathroom... More

I hosted an event at the University Club of Chicago and it was GREAT! Each year I host the same event in various major cities around the country. This year we were in Chicago. A lot of the major hotels would not give us the time of day because we only needed 15 sleeping rooms. The UCC was well appointed... More

I spent the weekend at the club and found it to be delightful. The location is perfect for visiting the Art Institute and is close to Buddy Guy's club for listening to the blues. The rooms are standard but nice. The bathrooms are basic, but clean. I am a reciprocal club member so the dress code was expected and no... More

....if you like to take in the Chicago Symphony, or the Art Institute. The rooms are clean and have an old-fashioned (not shabby) feel. If you are there in the warm weather and read the "rules" you may be hesitant to leave your room during the week. ; ) No athletic wear, flip flops, or jeans in the main lobby.... More

Stayed here 2nts in April. Preppy dress code. Had to wear nicer clothes then I am used to, not that I dress like a slob, but I don't have a lot of collared shirts being a woman. We had come in from Midway, via the "L". I changed my shoes and put on a collared shirt outside the hotel. Ck.... More

Stayed here for a very beautiful wedding, also held in the Club. The wedding location was beautiful, but the guest rooms need some TLC; the paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom, the toilet wasn't bolted properly to the floor and was extremely wobbly. Good luck taking a shower at prime time -- about an hour before the... More

Charming hotel. The staff are VERY helpful. Nice, clean rooms. Had some problems with television in room, but that was the only problem. Dress code a little too strict for my taste. More

We attended a wedding at the University Club and stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. It's a great location and the view from our room was remarkable. The hotel is old and has it's own old world charm. No denim allowed which was a challenge for this Californian. The staff was very helpful and the wedding facility was beautiful.... More
