Great location, just off the magnificent mile and next to Gino's East Pizza. We had a junior suite which meant we had a sitting room. This meant that we had a large room with large windows and nice views. The afternoon snack in the lobby was very nice. The reception was very friendly and accommodating, especially since we arrrived before... More

We had an adventure staying at The Affinia April 30th-May 3rd, while observing its smooth changeover to the Mile North Hotel. Our 17th floor contemporary room with a wall to wall window overlooking the front of the hotel, faced south down St. Clair St. It was a great location, just 1 block from Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue on the... The Affinia is an extremely nice hotel, though I was lucky to get a good deal on it ($170/night). The bed and pillows are very comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms are large, and the location is ideal for exploring the city. Because it is in the centre of town there is some street noise (Chicago seems like a particularly loud... More

Dear localfoodie_12, Thanks for taking the time to express your concerns about the hotel. I am new to the team and look forward to instilling a Midwestern hospitable approach for all associates. It's a huge focus of ours and I hope that you'll be back to show the improvements. We've already taken some reviews to heart and no longer charge... More

I had a regular room on the 17th floor. It was a nice room - one bed, comfortable. Nicely stocked minibar. Well-appointed. There was some street noise, but it is a city, and I think you need to expect that. There wasn't so much noise that I couldn't sleep. I did appreciate that I could open the window a tad... More

This hotel was fantastic! I upgraded to a Jr. Suite and the room was huge. The bathroom and the living space were very clean. Front desk people were nice...but the valet staff was amazing! From what I understand, the Affinia has been sold to another hotel group so I don't know if the name has changed or not. But I... More

This hotel is now a favorite of mine. Great location, nice rooms (ours had a lounge chair that pushed back to rest our tired feet), and a staff that can't be beat, in my opinion. Smiling, helpful, just what you need while traveling. We booked our room with a full breakfast included and were very pleased with the food and... More

Overall, experience uneven. Pros: Comfortable bed, clean room, Philosophy toiletries. Staff very friendly and nice - trying hard. Location. Cons: Dining experience unever - ok room service, great meal at bar, bad lunch next day (burger not as ordered - sent back- returned with stale bun and soggy cold fries. Had to ask for napkins. No ice machines. Poor light... More

Affinia Chicago is a good hotel, in line with most 4 star and above hotels in and around the area. I didn't really see a definitive aspect of the hotel which made me think i would always stay there when i visited Chicago, though. As far as location goes, there are other hotels in the same area around the Magnificent... More

Spent 2 night over a weekend. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, shades completely blocked out the light for sleeping in, and very quiet compared to other places we've stayed in the city. Only thing the room lacked was a lounge chair. Location was perfect for our trip, shopping and dining, just a block off Michigan Ave, next door to... More
