Except for football and U of I major events, this hotel maintains "very reasonable" rates (in a very safe area within easy access to shopping/mall and restaurants) for the area. This is probably the nastiest hotel in which I've ever had to stay. It makes the Red Roof Inn seem like luxury accommodations. The hallways smelled of poop, mold and cigarette smoke. Stayed at the La Quinta one night while visiting the university. It was great. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows too. It is a spacious room with a separate large sink /mirror area.
