We stayed one night in mid-may, prior to the busy outdoor adventure season starts. The room was very clean, comfortable and warm (night time hovered in the mid to upper 30’s). We did not hear a thing from outside, presumable due to the great insulation. It has the rustic mountain feel but well maintained. The staff was very, very helpful;... More

We only ate breakfast at this resort. The restaurant was clean, the staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was good. You get big portions as well. The service is fast. The location easy to find and reach.

This place is in the heart of Stanley. Being on the main road in, there is a good amount of traffic and some noise. The rooms were adequate, relatively clean and maintained. When we stayed there was a significant problem with the heat, it would not shut off and they had to physically remove the heating unit from the room... More

Stayed here three nights while doing a photo workshop in the Sawtooths. The room was big which was perfect since I had a lot of gear with me. I had plenty of room to dry wet clothes. The bed was nice and comfy. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is dated yes, but everything was in fine working order.... More

Stayed the middle of the week after labor day but they still had peak season rates.Too much for the rooms they offer. It is a quiet and peaceful area and after I cooled off the room I was able to turn off the noisey air conditioner. Bed was adequate. The room was what you would expect from a $50 or... More

Did not stay in this hotel. We instead stayed at Redfish Lake Lodge and had a horrible experience there so we decided to come here for breakfast instead. Having eaten there before years ago, I was shocked to see the changes in this once very decent place. As someone else mentioned, you order at a counter. When I saw this,... More

After reading all the reviews on trip advisor I was afraid this place would be horrible. This place was fine for our one night stay. Let me start by saying that the population of Stanley in the winter is 30 (thirty)!! Yes, this hotel is dated but it serves it's purpose. Most people are simply coming through Stanley and not... Having visited Stanley, ID a number of times we've always passed up the Mountain Village Resort in favor of more "rustic" accommodations. We finally took a chance on a busy Friday evening and were pleasantly surprised. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful and our room (in the back, away from the highway) was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We'll... More

I have been camping in Stanley and the Sawtooth's since I was a child. My wife and I decided to stay at the Mountain Village Resort for our anniversary so we wouldn't have to rough it. The first problem was booking the room. The worker spoke extremely broken English and was rude. They must do some sort of exchange program... More

I'm not sure what was worse--waking up in the morning of July 12th with 30 bed bug bites on my legs or the hotel's reaction when I emailed them the following day to alert them that they had a bed bug problem. Nothing. No reply. No apology. No ackowledgemnt of a problem. No indication that they would eradicate the pests.
