We recently stayed at the Hawthorn Suites in Rome for one night. I am a huge fan of utilizing historic properties instead of tearing them down. This restoration does not disappoint. Our king suite on the third floor had all the amenities of a hotel room, but with so much more charm. Wyndham has done a wonderful job. Exposed brick,... More

This hotel is actually a converted old battery warehouse that has a wonderful historic feel. It's a great location, one block off Broad Street in Downtown Rome, very convenient to walk to shopping and dining. We had one of the corner rooms on the second level that was very spacious, bright, comfortable and a great home base. The rooms had... More

I visited Rome, Georgia for a wedding recently and stayed at the Hawthorn Suites. This hotel is a converted warehouse building which gives it a lot of character! It is built around an open atrium with vines hanging all over the inside of it. Really pretty. The check in and out was really good. The staff was wonderful. The lobby... More

Make SURE you don't get stuck in one of the interior, windowless rooms. This is a nifty old building that has been nicely updated, with cooking facilities in each room. But ours was like entering a cave, with brick walls and NO WAY to get any fresh air. The breakfasts are do-it-yourself and tasty, and are included in the cost.... More

We are glad you enjoyed your trip to Rome, GA and hope you will have a chance to come visit us again. Hawthorn Suites has 8 different room types and unfortunually 3 rooms are interior with no window to the outside. When we are sold out it is not always possible to avoid assigning a guest to one of these... More

From the time we got out of our car, my friend Jake and I were swept away by the graciousness of the hotel staff and the opulence of the hotel itself. The staff were welcoming and eager to please; it was good to see that everyone who walked through the door was treated like a VIP. More

Husband had business in Atlanta and I hadn't been back to Rome in a long time.. Asked a friend to advise me where to stay.. I guess the high price here made her think this would be a nice place.. The only thing nice about it is the downtown location. I have honestly stayed in Holiday Inns that had more... More

Great if you are having to stay in Rome due to events/orientation at Berry College. Less than a couple miles away in the downtown area. Within walking distance of shops and eateries. The hotel is small but has a unique charm due to the exposed brick, large and overhang looking down into the lower levels. Pros: The bed was comfortable... More

This hotel is located one block from the main street in Rome. It is also one block from the river. There are plenty of restuarants to walk to and places to site see. Hawthorn did a great job of renovating this old Machine shop. It has large spacious rooms. If you factor in the full breakfast bar, the price is... More

Very wonderful hotel, hidden little gem, charming, quaint, and very clean. Roomy suites with kichenettes. Near all local restaurants and shops within walking distance. I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Rome... hated it (old, run down, doors did not lock,etc)... found this place and I am so happy, don't want to leave! More

Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor. It's obvious that you respect the preservation of old buildings. We have made our rooms oversized and very comfortable just the same as your home.
