We stayed at the Wingate because it was $65/night instead of the $150-$200/night hotels in downtown Savannah. Although this wasn't as convenient, we found we were pretty much 20 minutes or less from anywhere we wanted to be, and we could park right by the door. This property is adjacent to I-95, so expect the hotel to be hosting tour bus groups, which means the breakfast room and other hotel facilities will be crowded. We randomly selected the Wingate to spend the night. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable and the price was a nice surpise. I would recommend the Wingate for anyone traveling through the Savannah area. A great value for the money. more

If you are only staying one or two nights and are planning to spend your days seeing Savannah and not staying in your hotel, this is the area to stay. Loved this hotel!! Although its about 20-25 minutes from Savannah's Riverfront, its worth it. We were close to the mall, grocery stores and I-95, however. We were privy to free wi-fi, continental breakfast, sauna and fitness room! The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. We had a fridge and microwave in our room. I checked in late and it was extremely fast and hassle-free. The room was comfortable and everything appeared new and in good condition. The King-size bed was very comfortable and the continental breakfast was decent. I would recommend this for a one or two night stay, it was a great experience for a business traveler. more
