Like a previous reviewer I was referred to the Clarion Inn (previously Park Inn) by all of the positive feedback the hotel received by TripAdvisor posters.

Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed upon arrival. At most, the Clarion Inn is a glorified roadside motel. At worst, it is a poorly, shabbily 'remodeled' motor-inn. The pictures on the site aren't true to the motel's actual likeness.

Furthermore, it is, under best circumstances, 20 minutes away from Jekyll and St. Thomas Islands. Once the ample construction is figured in, it hardly makes for a pleasant drive.

To put it simply, this is not the place to go if you require even the slightest bit of luxury or comfort. Although our stay was quite a while ago, I still have unpleasant memories of our short trip.

If you're looking for a place to stay, consider a proper, indoor hotel. You'll have plenty of reliable options in the same price range. Just don't expect the Clarion Inn to be the... more
