The location of the lodge is excellent. The spring is a great place for a refreshing swim or for sunbathing. The boat tour through the spring area is beautiful. In the evening, it is a relaxing and quiet location. If you want to go out for dinner though, and you don't want to use the big and not-very-cozy in-house restaurant,... More

Great lodge for the period. Wakulla springs are beautiful and you must take the boat ride! Bring your camera for great wildlife photos. We had dinner and breakfast at the lodge and the food was better than expected. Rooms were clean and bedding very comfortable. A/C a little noisy and erratic.

The setting is so quiet and beautiful you can't help but relax. Waiting for our room to be ready, we took the boat ride (don't miss it) with Luke the Ranger and his comic (but informative) poetic patter. As for the lodge, it helps to not expect too much in modern decor and amenities. Instead we felt we were there... More

If you want a historic hotel in a natural setting than this is the place. The lodge has wonderful character including an unique elevator, a beautiful lobby, and amazing scenary. Take the boat ride and a chilly dip in the springs Don't forget some reading material as the rooms have no television or internet, which was not missed during our... More

Things have changed at the lodge, and not for the better. The management of the restaurant and hotel have been taken over by Cape Leisure. No more waffles and chicken for breakfast, no more maintenance either. Tried to get a few items addressed regarding housekeeping, to no good result. Still a lovely, charming place (and still no hair dryers), but... More

Wakulla Springs and the famous Wakulla Springs Lodge have been on our travel radar for years but it is only recently that we managed a visit. In the meantime, increasingly negative reviews have been appearing on Tripadvisor. There have been management changes; some longstanding guests have apparently experienced an alarming decline. Rustic and unspoiled we enjoy; neglect/decay/uncaringness are a different... More

My family and I have been visiting this lovely place for twenty years. The woods, water and wildlife are as beautiful as ever. The Lodge dates back to the 1930s and some things don't work as they ought and the housekeeping side is in general relaxed, but the place is full of charm and character. However there's been a disturbing... More

If it's a get away from the tv and cell phone you want, this is the place for you. It's a romantic spot for lovers and it's a family place for kids. We loved the instant peace that pervaded the whole building. It took us back to the 50's (lodge was built in the 30's), including the threadbare towels. And... More

We loved our stay at the Wakulla Springs Lodge. It's a remote hotel built in the 30's, grand, but a little bit shabby chic. Tarzan movies were filmed in the river where you can take a boat ride and get a close up view of many birds and animals. We had a big quiet room with casement windows. I loved... More

Don't expect posh anything, but if you want an escape from your normal daily hustle and bustle, the historic lodge and state park grounds are a welcome respite. Highlights are the river tour on the natural springs: gators, manatees and migratory birds from all over; the hiking trails, nature photo moments galore and enjoying quiet moments "beach" side. Suggest you... More
