We found that finding a pet friendly place to stay close to the historical district of St. Augustine was a difficult task. We took our chances with the Scottish Inn. While the people were very nice, the room was dusgusting. There was paint peeling from the ceilings, nasty stains on the beds box spring, pillows that looked liked they were run over by a steam roller, hard beds, toilets that don't flush well, sinks that don't drain (even after they come and "fix it" by taking out the stopper), paper thin stained towels, and a nasty filthy bathroom that doesn't look like the tile has been wiped down since the 1950's when it was built! Oh yeah, we even had to kill a giant palmetto bug (ROACH)! This place is rated a two diamond by AAA. What a joke. The only reason I can think it has a two diamond rating is because it has a pool.
