The place was beautiful. It was peaceful, quiet and we stayed in the Lookout Cabin. Nice nature trials and the views were amazing. loved the piers that led out to the bay. Will definitely be back.

First off let me say that Cape San Blas has very limited lodging. If you want to rough it and are ok with true rustic cabins, then any of the cabins in Old Saltworks is fine. We are not into the whole roughing thing when it comes to the beach and have found the only descent houses Old Salt Work’s... More

My late father loved this part of Florida, The Forgotten Coast. From Mexico Beach (his fav) to Apalachicola & St George Island. He mentioned Old Saltworks often. We have stayed here several times with our dogchild (always with us when we travel). The Reed cabin once but The Bay House is our favorite. Right on the Bay with great views... More

I read the reviews before we booked our cabin at Old Saltworks, and I really wasn't sure what to think. I am a clean freak and a bedbug-phobe, so the negative reviews really worried me. On the other hand I have done a lot of camping a don't expect a stay in the woods to be free of bugs and... More

Just stayed there last week for 8 nights of hell. Heavy BLACK MOLD coverering the bedroom ceiling and living room area, including the air ducts. The floors were dirty and the carpet was joined together by about 12 ft. of silver duct tape. In the bathroom there was also quite a bit of mold and the vinyl around the shower... More

We stayed in the Lookout Cabin and it was just fine... The shower was a tad bit small but I used the outdoor shower the rest of my visit.. it was big and I just really took to taking showers outside... I have become quite a fan! anyways... the bed was acceptable, nothing plush, there were two big stuffed chairs... More

My husband had reserved a cabin at the Old Salt Works for our wedding anniversary/my 40th birthday/the honeymoon we never had. I love the beaches on the Cape and had stayed in some other cabins that were nearby many years ago so I was quite excited for the trip. I was also thrilled that pets were allowed which meant I... The place was run down. There were bedbugs, cockroaches (yes inside the cabin), the furniture was very old -- like from the 1960's and looked like it had never been cleaned. The kitchen had ants. There were cigarette burns on just about every thing even though this was supposed be a non-smoking room AND the room smelled smoky. The floors... More

My wife and i were given a choice to get actual presents from her parents or we could choose to come down here and enjoy a week on the bay with the family. We chose to come down to the Old Salt Works Cabins. I was nervous about our stay due to me reading the reviews prior to us leaving... More

This was our first trip to Cape San Blas and it was for a week of searching for a place to rent for a month in March. We stayed in the Guest House on the bay and had one of the greatest, most relaxing vacations that we have ever had. We fell in love with the Old Saltworks and thought... More
