Older hotel but still in great shape. Right on the beach and perfect for a vacation or a weekend getaway. Rates very reasonable in the winter season and the weather was perfect. More

Although this was not my first trip to Mexico Beach, FL, this was my first time staying at the El Govenor. Some friends and I stayed here over the New Year's Eve weekend. The hotel is nothing fancy but perfectly acceptable and very clean with lots of hot water!! We had a room in the tower with two double beds,... More

We just returned back to the FRENZY that is Atlanta. And left behind a small piece of paradise at Mexico Beach. We checked in on Friday 12/23 and stayed in the annex. The room reminded me of a piece of americana. It was clean and looked like a beach motel should. It was not the Ritz, but sometimes a Ritz... More

We stayed at the El Governor in June with our grandchildren. We found the room very clean and the kids loved the balcony facing the ocean. The in-room kitchen was very convenient and had everything we needed. The beach was beautiful. The kids also enjoyed the pool, which is small, but a place to take a break from the beach.... More

We visited Mexico Beach and stayed at the El Governor over the Thanksgiving weekend. I was a bit concerned because we were to late to get an Annex room after reading reviews. We ended up with 3rd floor King room. The room was better than I expected. Room size was good, the balcony overlooking beach was great (every room has... More

It's an average hotel room, but right on the beach. Of course, the gulf view rooms have an excellent sunset view. The elevator is hot and maybe the slowest I've ever ridden. Need to reserve early if any kind of event or special occasion is going on. More

GREAT place to stay when you visit Mexico Beach FL. All the rooms face the gulf and it's reasonably priced. More

The location and the beach make up for anything the rooms lack. The room (in the annex) was nothing fancy but clean and had everything we needed - we were there for the beach not the room. We will stay there again. More

The main attraction to this property is the fact that it is literally on the beautiful Mexico Beach. To their credit they have made it easy and comfortable for guests to sit out to watch the sunset and listen to the surf. If you want a night on the beach, then this is it! Beyond the beach however you get... More

There are two buildings the main hotel and the Annex. The Annex has a small kitchen in the room and back doors that open to a view of the water with a grass courtyard with swings and gas grills. The room has fake wood floors, great for all the sand you will track in. The bed wasn't the most comfortable... More
