I stayed for 8 days on a business trip. This is a group of older hotels with all the problems of older buildings, but the staff worked hard to make my stay pleasant. This is the second year that I stayed at Avalon. It is a simple hotel but it is clean and its location is superb, right on the beach! It is also within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Good location, and very quiet only 5 minute walk to restuarants and bars. Directly opposite beach. room was spotless and staff were very friendly especially Dianne on the front desk. Locality is great, right in middle of beach front amongst great restaurants and shops. Rooms are old but clean. Outside facilities - pool and lounge areas are great. Continental breakfast provided free which you can have by pool or in front deck area which looks out on beach across road. Staff are very helpful with any requests, especially Dianne. more
