Making alot of improvments in a good location close to one of my favorite restraunts. pet friendly but they did charge me a pet fee for my service dog. nice friendly staff and the outside looks good with a nice pool across the street from the beach. It is time to update the rooms however.

This out favorite local get away place that is right on the beach with swimming pool and 4 star restaurant The Blue that has in and out door dining. Pets are welcome in most rooms, except for the more pricey antique room in the original hotel. I is an hour south on A1A and north of Daytona.

Upon the advise of some friends, my wife and I went up to Flagler Beach last weekend and stayed at the Topaz Hotel/Motel. The beautiful old house was built in 1925 and is filled with interesting antiques. The room was large and clean. We had a great view of the beach right across the street. We will be going back.

This place, which appeared to be a delight at some point, many years ago, has seen its day. Our room was not cleaned properly, starkly and poorly furnished. There was some improvement activity taking place but it needs major overhaul. This would have been a disappointment at half of what we paid. New air-conditioned that worked well.

When I first arrived the room I was given was not clean. The only other available room was one with a kitchen which was considered an "upgrade"....ha! The Topaz used to be extremely clean, always painted, clean and modern bedroom and bathroom. I stayed there one night (I almost got up and left in the middle of the night) and found the room totally run down, old bedspread that I threw on the floor, blankets that were tattered, pillows that should have been thrown away two years... I shared a room with my teenager and it was fine. We had internet, a small kitchenette and best of all, we were a few footsteps form the fine warm water of the Atlantic Ocean! Long time favorite of my family who frequents Flagler. Historic old building converted to hotel and restaurant. 2 stay options - one in the original building & two in the add on hotel (built probably 70's). The later is the cheaper of the 2.
