My wife and I spent four great days based at the Ivey House and Inn last December. Ivey House is just about perfect. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, terrifically nice and helpful staff for info on restaurantts, wildlife hotspots, etc. Great "base camp" for your own explorations or guided trips from a few hours to many days. They also have good... more

From the first moment we walked in it felt like we were a King and Queen. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They were there to assist us with whatever we asked. Especially Rebecca at the front desk. I was really freaking out about the kayak tour we booked with them because I have never kayaked before especially with alligators!!!... more

We arrived with a confirmation that stated we had paid a deposit for The Cottage for two nights. We were checked into a hotel room and then pointed out that we were confirmed for The Cottage. The front desk staff couldn't help us and brought out Heather, the general manager, who proceed to yell at us and tell us that... more

We stayed in The Cottage and it was good. I am used to a softer mattress, but it was adequate. After the first night I discovered that at night you could see through the blinds---I mean they might have well not been there. That needs correcting, but everything else was very fine. The staff were exceptionally helpful, in particular Tod.... more

This is THE place to stay to explore the Everglades from the Gulf side of Florida. The staff is not only extremely knowledgable, but friendly, too. The breakfasts are very good. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, but definitely not luxurious. We stayed at the Inn part & had a private bathroom, but in the Lodge, apparently there is one... more

We were on a three day photo-shoot and picked the Ivey House because they are a local outfitter as well as a hotel/b&b. In all respects it met or exceeded expectations; staff was uniformly friendly and helpful with good local knowledge - all recommendations were helpful and appropriate. Small-town and 'old-Florida' feel - definitely not 'urban' which is exactly what... more

From the minute I walked in the main door I was welcomed as a valued guest and not a nameless, faceless customer. I loved my trip to the Everglades because of all the tours and eateries recommended by the Ivey House's friendly and helpful staff, Patrick and Tod in particular. I stayed in the inn side of the hotel. The... more

Hi, My boyfriend and I traveled to the Ivey House in mid-January 2010 and just fell in love with the simplicity of it and the friendly people. If you want to travel back into another time, visit this hotel. The people are just warm and friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was adequate in a shared dining area. It was not... more

Stayed two nights at Ivey House and took a ecotour kayak trip into the Big Cypress Preserve and the Everglades Park. Wonderful trip, very knowledgeable and pleasant guide who worked well with entire group. Ivey House staff are great and helpful. Only caveat is to avoid the B and B/shared bathroom side of the Inn. We had to move there... more

My friend and I stayed two nights. The staff was very flexible in allowing us to check in as soon as we got there and immediately gave us some good advise about tours walks to take. We followed their advice and enjoyed both the both trips and the boardwalks. they also recommended the Havana Cafe at the end of the... more
