My husband and I stayed at The Captain's Table for one night. It is located right across the street from a restaurant/bar. The motel is no frills but certainly suited our needs. We had a room with no porch. There were two full size beds in the room. There was a closet with a fridge and some extra room for... More

All one has to do is research "Everglades City" and you'll realize that you're not likely to find 4 or 5 star places to stay! This is a really small town. The Captain's Table is - pretty much - an old school motel. The building, hallways and rooms are quite dated and could use some remodelling. Check-in was fine, if... More

We stayed two nights. Room was clean and appropriate for a fishing village. However, the real problem is management and staff. Several people in our party commented to me about the abrupt and unpleasant treatment they experienced by staff and the comment was consistent with the abrupt treatment we experienced. While they are not offensive, at least to us, they... More

I booked a room for Jan. 27, planning to extend a stay that was already scheduled for Jan. 28 and 29 with a group I belong to. I booked the room on approximately Dec. 21. The desk clerk made an error in the reservation and booked me for Dec. 27, not Jan. 27. The owner/manager called me on Dec. 28... More

Well, this is Everglades City and there isn't much by way of accommodations around the area. We stayed in the villas which were spacious and clean but needed a little TLC. A bit pricey for what you get. But great location for visiting the Everglades and that was the main thing we were looking for If you go, be sure... More

Not much more to say really, the young man who checked us in was very friendly, the room was a reasonable size and although the hotel looked "tired" the rooms and the bathroom were spotless. We arrived late in the day so didn't get a chance to use the pool but is was in a great spot overlooking the river... More

We went to Everglades City in off-off-off-season, which means there is absolutely nothing to do and many restaurants close early. The hotel has a friendly staff and checkin was a breeze. The hotel room is adequate for one or two nights. The hotel also features a pool, which was a good place to cool down after a long down in... More

I give it 5 stars out of 5 because it met my expectations, not because it's luxurious. It's a good example of how older lodging can be perfectly clean and acceptable. We stayed in Lodge Room 212, upstairs, non-smoking. NOT NEW: - staircase (some chipped edges, but not at all unsafe) - hallway carpet (few dark stains, but no smell,... More

We stayed at The Captain's Table for three days and with their great rates, parents and two teenagers had separate rooms with screened porch and sundeck. Clean, simple and convenient with a great pool overlooking Lake Placid close to the Everglades National Park and Cypress Preserve. Adjacent restaurant, The Depot, was a hundred yard walk to reasonably priced food, including... More

The Captain's Table was a great economic choice for a one night stay in Everglades City. The hotel is old but the rooms have been redone - nothing fancy but clean and comfy. There is a nice pool that sits right on the river - great view. They also have toast and coffee and juice. Neither the pool or breakfast... More
