Bhainsrorgarh Fort is a magical place to stay! A small hotel of just a dozen individual rooms which have been updated with all modern conveniences without the loss of the historic look and feel of the fort. You eat on the roof with fantastic views of the river and surrounding countryside. The owners, whose family have owned and only lived... More

Bhainsrorgarh Fort Hotel is one of those utterly memorable places that stay in the mind and imagination. We visited two years ago and often thought back to the superb panorama from the roof terrace of the fort overlooking the Chambal River and miles of cultivated farmlands. The hosts are the two sons of the family who own the fort/palace and,... More

We stayed at this fort for one night in November. Everything was excellent from the delicious lunch on arrival to the rooms which are furnished with lovely colours and wonderfully comfortable beds. The bathrooms are well appointed and all rooms are spotlessly clean. The staff are very helpful and the owners very pleased to explain their plans for the future... More

We saw 2012 out and 2013 in at Bhainsrorgarh and couldn't have wished for a more magical setting. We were traveling with our two teenage sons and a friend and between us have visited India a number of times, but we all agreed that Bhainsrogarh was the loveliest place we have stayed. More ancestral homestay than hotel, it felt like... More

Our stay here was wonderful. We had the suite on the top floor which has 2 balconies complete with cushions overlooking the river....a perfect spot to relax. The suite itself was furnished in the old style of the Fort which we loved. Meals were served on the roof terrace, we watched a crocodile swim leisurely down the river as we... More

We are seasoned travellers in India . This counts as one of the best places we have stayed in. It is a character Heritage property so the rooms are rather old fashioned as you'd expect but we had no complaints about comfort. We stayed in the spacious Mewar suite on the top floor. If you want Internet access and TV... More

Just 90 minutes from Kota Railway Station in Rajasthan is a great Boutique resort named Bhainsrorgarh Fort.It is a 17th century fort, restored and run by the erstwhile royal family. Its a "Dream location" is great on a quiet river with direct availability of freshwater fish! The atmosphere is really soothing, rooms immaculate and tastefully done. During summers, a roof... More

I had gone for a family vacation and stayed in this hotel during an extended trip to Rajasthan. The hotel has great views and excellent food. But thats about it. The rooms are average, clean but not comfortable. We took two rooms, the one on the ground floor is avoidable. The other one on the second floor was better and... More

This accommodation was a bit more expensive than we usually choose during our travels, but we felt that the experience would be worth it. We were right! We arrived in time for an excellent late lunch after bumping over appalling roads, and when we saw the Fort in the distance it was very impressive. The fact that all meals are... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Bhainsrorgarh Fort is one of the finest Boutique Forts Hotels in south eastern Rajasthan and stands overlooking an expanse of the Chambal River. It is one of the most picturesque and awe-inspiring forts of Rajasthan. This fortified outpost of the erstwhile kingdom of Mewar (Udaipur) sits majestically on a rocky cliff that rises from the bank of the Chambal River. Located 235 km northeast of Udaipur and 50 km south of Kota, the fort was built in 1741 AD. The fortress has been restored to its old world charm by the present family that continues to live in the same precincts. The Fort wall encompasses a thriving village, possibly one of the few in the country to be contained within the fort. The gently restored Palace within Bhainsrorgarh Fort can be accessed over a bridge built on the Chambal or by a boat transfer that takes you to the edge of the fort where the cenotaphs of the family are located. Besides there is the endless charm of exploring on your own in the well-tended gardens, village, farms, cenotaphs and surrounding ruins.Guest can keep themselves busy with various activities like: Boat Ride in the Chambal River, Visit to the 9th Century Badoli Temples, Drive to the tribal villages by Jeep in the evening; catching the magic of dusk as we stop for tea or a sundowner at a scenic spot on the banks of the chambal river. You can also enjoy a picnic on an island or a drive to the Mukundarrah National Park which is great for birding. The walk to the village market is also very popular with our guests. You can also try your luck at angling in the river below where you can hook the famous Mahseer Fish. ... more   less
