In Feb. 2009 we traveled to Destin, FL with accommodations at the BaySide Inn. apparently during slow season you must check in at the Grand on the resort. After an at least 2 minute drive out of the way to check in at the Grand we were headed to the Hotel. Complete disappointment hit us the moment we walked in.... more

My Husband and I stayed here for four days for our first Wedding Anniversary and it was amazing. The drive was long coming from Orlando, a six hour drive, but it was worth it. We had a view of the Choctawatchee bay and the beach was right across the street. I had mixed feelings going into this place because I... more

We don't have a lot of money. However, we do enjoy having a luxury vacation (mini-vacation) about once a year. Our favorite place is the Sandestin Resort in Destin, Florida. The beautifully manicured property, outlet shopping nearby and the white sand beach are definitely a draw. Sandestin can be very expensive $250 - $400 a night. However, they have a... more

We went to Sandestin for a conference last month, and we learned quickly that this was a 1 star hotel at a 3 or 4 star price. There was NO water pressure in the bathroom. The beds were doubles that are very low to the ground, cheap, and uncomfortable. You have no access to the beach, only a pool. After... more

Stayed 3 nights for a conference. Took the family so they could enjoy the beach and pools while I sat in seminars. The room was not satisfactory. The bathroom had splatters and scrapes on the wall and really needed painting badly. On the floor between the bed and the nightstand was a moldy banana, 2 potato chips and a rubber... more

My boyfriend and I had reservations for a condo directly on the beach but found out we could not stay there because we were not 25. I was a bit upset because they did not mention that at all when making the reservations. In any case, the agency gave us a really good deal on a room at the bayside... more

I read that others had a problem with checking in. They must have visited during an off peak season. We just returned from our stay at the Bayside Inn (Memorial weekend). There was someone at the front desk at all times. Check in/out was very smooth and quick. The only issue we had with check in, was that we had... more

Upon arrival, a very nice young man assisted with my check in. He informed me actual check in time didn't begin until 4, but they'd try to accommodate me. They did a great job of getting my room ready as I went to get a bite to eat. I found certain things in the room to be quite dirty, like... more

Sandestin resort exceeded our expectations, but this particular hotel was just so-so. The front desk was not staffed during our stay, so check-in was across the resort at GrandDestin, and any requests for service had to be made via phone, which unfortunately was required more than once, and necessary immediately upon our arrival when we found a single king bed... more

I stayed here 3 night for a conference. First you have to check in at the Grand which is a couple of miles away. That's because there was no one at the front desk. The room was fine, no restaurtant or bar in the inn, you have to walk down to the broken egg for breakfast (not far). When I... more
