I stayed at Castaways for four nights in a two-bed apartment with my friend. Castaways is a small, family-owned motel located on the bay a short walk away from Pier 60 and Clearwater Beach. Our stay in Feb 07 We really wanted the Sand Dollar motel, where we already had spent three vacations. Unfortunately, we found out that all known small motels, have been replaced by huge yuppie buildings. Horrible. Between those buildings there is the "Castaways". Just got back from 4 nights at this hotel.. It was clean, quiet, had a nice kitchen, ceramic tile throughout, small but adequate pool for kids, central air. If you're looking for a good value and a clean, comfortable place to stay you've found it! Close to beach and shopping. Would definitely return. more

Overall my stay was wonderful. This motel is nice, clean, quiet, and is very good to stay at when staying over 2-3 days. It is like an apartment. The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to assist us. Our room/apartment was very nice, clean, had central-air and ceramic floors. We enjoyed fishing of the dock, in a quiet location off the beaten path, yet close enough (within walking distance) to most attractions. We will be returning next year. more

I chose to go to this motel at the advise of another booked hotel in clearwater beach but was VERY disappointed with this hotel. We brought our 11 month old daughter and the trip was a disaster.
