I have stayed here about 4 times in the last year. It does not pretend to be a cookie cutter hotel, and it is not by any means. It is for those who will spend little time "in the room" and will be out and about most of the day. The beach is a 2 min walk..bars etc just as... More

A little extra effort and sense of simple style would go a long way here, as the town, beach, restaurants, and sea are unsurpassable. Yes it is dated and dare I say, old ladyish. The coverlets on the beds are clearly more than 20 years old. It is obvious that no one with a sense of vision has thought about... More

No style? Ouch! Dated, old ladyish? Ouch, ouch! Wow…. That hurts!! True, the Pelican Post is an ‘older property’ and I suppose you might describe our genre as mom ‘n’ pop. Personally, I would go further and describe it as functional, practical and efficient and our decor reflects this. Our beds are comfy (even with our ‘clearly 20 year old... More

I had read the reviews before going here with my son for a few days recently. It's low cost, but clean and the management is nice. The door sticks, the wifi rarely worked for me (despite near heroic efforts by the management. The only time it worked was when all of their computers were shut down for the night -... More

Thank you for your review. I can confirm that we fixed the sticking door in #4 only to be confronted with #6 (identical door) doing exactly the same this morning! No problem though as I still have my drill in the truck. As for the wi-fi – the techies say the problem is set to get worse. Guests are no... More

Stayed as a party of 5 - 4 adults & 1 child. We wanted somewhere in a great location as we were only there for 1 night. The Pelican Post does exactly what it says on the tin - it's very reasonably priced, clean, and has everything you may need. If you're after luxury then it probably isn't for you... More

I liked it, but my husband did not care for it. He thought it was dated, but that didn't bother me. Cleanliness is my top priority and that it was. We were able to walk to play putt-putt and if you are a Moose Lodge member, there is a nice one on the beach, within walking distance. They serve food... More

Across the road from the beach, this place was one of the coziest AND the least expensive place we found. It is a very nice area and safe. Loved the kitty cats that greeted us. We felt right at home at this place. We will be back for sure!

Hubby & I needed a quiet weekend to ourselves but didn't want to go too far from home. Bradenton Beach on Ana Maria Island is only about an hour away and we had stayed at the Pelican Post a few years ago and decided to go back again. We were not disappointed we had a nice clean room, and of course... More

My daughter & I needed a place that was economical, close to the beach and also to my parent's house. The Pelican Post is an older building, motel style, but kept up well and very clean. It is a nice quiet location and just a short walk to the beach and other places. If you are looking for super fancy,... More

We live 30-40 minutes from the beaches and like to stay overnight once in awhile to enjoy the beach and area . 2 other properties we stayed at before were not avail for this one night. I will not give a bad review just because a place is economical. But it is what it is..economical. It is an older and... More
