The staff is great and the rooms are very well appointed. Parking garage on ground level is a plus, and is within a stones throw of the Long Island Sound and some very good eateries. Continental breakfast was a bit disappointing for the cost, but fresh and high quality stuff.

Pluses: - new, well kept, high end b&b room furnishings - outstanding Artisan restaurant - solicitous staff from front desk to breakfast server to doorman - plush linens, four poster bed, refrigerator and microwave in standard room, with many cable tv channels, nighttime chocolates on pillow. Large room even for standard ("deluxe") size - our room facing courtyard was very... More

We went to stamford CT to visit friends and got a recommendation to stay at this hotel. Although the location seems a bit odd, just 5 minutes from the high way (which in a way on the other hand is convenient as well); the hotel is really a small, elegant, boutique hotel with exceptional attention to detail. Rooms are very... More

After staying in a few less than memorable hotels in Connecticut, I am glad to have found the Delamar. The rooms are well appointed, very clean and comfortable. I have stayed in the hotel several times and on each visit I was given a nice size room that allowed space to work and relax. And, after a long day on... More

I have stayed at The Delamar five times in the past 12 months and it is a very nice hotel: Beautiful artwork, decorations and furniture, rooms are very nice, clean and new. Restaurant is very good, courtyard bar is fun in nice weather. One negative: Very small workout room with limited equipment (about what you would expect for this size... More

I had stayed at the Delamar back in July and found it to be a hidden gem. It had only been open a short time so I was prepared for no restaurant, room service, etc. I did however receive a lovely welcome note, small bottle of wine and a snack of some sort. I was impressed. I came back in... More

We booked two rooms for a girls weekend away - confirmed the rooms were on the same floor the day before our arrival. Upon arrival we were told rooms were not on the same floor and only one room was available at 4:30 and the second would be ready in an hour. Check in time was 3 pm. Front desk... More

We ended up at the Delamar as a result of the Halloween storm power outage in our neighboring town. While friends stayed at the larger business hotels or roughed it at home sleeping by the fireplace we snuggled into this comfortable, beautifully decorated small gem of a hotel and took advantage of the excellent service, small but meticulous fitness room... The Delamar Southport is a very nice small hotel. We had two connecting rooms which were a very nice size. The rooms are nicely appointed, not gorgeous but done very nicely. The beds were super yummy. We did not want to get out of them. To us the most important things was the space as we were a family of... More

The room was well-appointed and spacious, with special touches like slippers, robes, and complimentary chocolate and wine. The concierge-style service was unexpected and delivered with a friendliness you do not find in large cities. Nearby were two very good restaurants and a nice spa to and from which the hotel provided shuttle transportation. I visited the Delamar as a retreat... More
