This is really a lovely spot in any season. It sits right on the Lake and affords amazing views. The staff is very nice and also helpful. The Litchfield area is so beautiful and towns are closely so easy to drive and explore. We moved from the area years ago but go back at least twice and year and choose... More

We married last February on the iron bridge in Lover's Leap State Park and then followed the day's events with a wonderful meal at Boulders. It was a very small affair with just our parents and our son. But it was, in a word, perfect. We so enjoyed our experience from the moment we arrived until we left that we... More

Perhaps I am one of the lucky few, but I had a nice time at this Inn and found the staff to be perfectly nice. I stayed for a long weekend in the fall. I found the property very beautiful indeed, and our room (in the Carriage House) was lovely. I very much liked the fact that the fireplace was... More

Desultory in every way, unpleasant staff mostly. Is the owner aware?! Paying top price one expects much more - just awful

Overall, our hotel room was nice and the area was beautiful, but the experience fell short for us especially considering the price. The food at the restaurant was just "ok" at best and was very expensive. The staff were not overly helpful or pleasant. Just asking for more coffee at breakfast was a trial. I wouldn't stay there again.

The Boulders Inn is located in one of the most beautiful places in CT. I have read some of the reviews and agree with some but not all. The help was friendly but little details for the price were missing. The cabin we stayed in had poor lighting and those little details can be fixed for the price you pay.... More

We had to stay in The Boulders for a wedding weekend this month, and the experience was so disappointing. We arrived at 8:30pm on Friday evening, and after driving 3 hours to get there, the staff didn't even offer to help us with our bags. They then decided to close the restaurant early (9:30pm close is noted in their guest... More

We last stayed at the Boulders on New Years Eve in 1989 and visited (but did not stay) the property in 1994. I started looking for a quick getaway for my wife, with the kids being in camp and remembered the great time we had at the Boulders 20 years ago. Frankly after reading some of the reviews on TA... We dined at The Boulders this past weekend. Our expectations were high given the apparent reputation of this establishment. Our experience upon arrival was sour. The attitude and general demeanor of the staff, including the manager, was unacceptable for a restaurant with this reputation. It was as if WE were doing them a favor by being there. The wait and... This was the second time I've been to the Boulders Inn and I would eagerly go back again. My room was fantastic with a fireplace and a lovely sitting area - very, very clean and comfortable. The food was incredibly delicious and on Saturday night there was a terrific piano player there. The staff are all personable and polite and... More
