We went to Mystic for new year eve with another couple friend. Whaler's Inn was one of the few places where there were rooms available and the reviews were not too bad, so we made the reservation. Overall I was not very happy with the stay quality vs the prices they charge. Here are pros and cons of staying here:...

Great experience after moving away from area 30 years ago. The room was nice and the staff was very accommodating, making sure we were set up with extra towels and even putting together a nice goody bag for Christmas morning breakfast since everything was closed for Christmas day. You can't beat the location as we could walk to just about...

Charming old building houses this quaint, colonial inn. If you want glass elevators, stay in Boston. If you prefer the flavor of a New England seaport, stay at the Whaler's Inn. Rooms are charming and the cleanest you'll find anywhere. The proprietor, Mr. Prisby, has created a warm and welcoming environment. Service is excellent. Our four poster bed was exceptionally...

As others have noted, this is a great location for walking around Mystic. The hotel is actually a collection of various buildings of different styles and vintages. We stayed in the Main Building on the third floor. This is a walk-up with no elevator. We took the advice of others and requested a corner room, which was quite spacious. The...

Lots of great shopping and fabulous restaurants all around you - you won't need your car if you stay here. You'll even have a view of the famous drawbridge from just about every room on the property. Mystic...

We went for one weekend in mid-November. It's an easy and convenient drive from Boston. The service at check-in was fantastic, warm and friendly. We had a corner room on the third floor of the main building, very comfortable. The building is older, and the floors are settling, so the room seemed to slant a bit, but that's fine with...

Mystic provided a fantastic break from hectic Manhattan. The whalers inn is well located, chintzy but very homely. its well located for the town being at the heart of the boutique shops and eateries that cluster either side of the bridge. I had a queen suite which was packed with antiquiy furniture giving it a really quaint feel. a fantastic...

We arrived at Mystic near the end of our foliage trip and it was a great ending to our trip. We followed Lonely Planet's advice and were not disappointed. The room at the Whaler's Inn was a bit pricey ($175 + tax) but very lovely and had great views of the bridge, a romantic fireplace, cozy bed and huge bathroom....
