Stay nowhere else in Connecticut, if you can help it - really! The Tidewater Inn does everything right. The place itself is gorgeous in every detail of decorating and comfort. It's a trip to the most elegant facets of 19th century New England (and my son and I were last there for the Inn's lovely Christmas), but without any stuffiness.... More

We have visited and spent time in some nice B&B Inns in the northeast and can say with conviction that this has been an all around wonderful place. Our host, Victoria, treated us with genuine warmth and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. If you like antique tall four post trundle beds with comfortable mattresses, hot... More

We loved the Tidewater Inn, and the hostess,Victoria, and the food, the food, the food!!!!!! Don't go if you want to get back into your clothes! Victoria's breakfasts are awesome, as is her hospitality; the Inn is beautifully furnished and immaculately clean and comfortable. Victoria was welcoming, and helpful about places to visit, shop and eat, and even gave me... More

Very comfortable rooms, lovely gardens, fabulous hospitality, delicious breakfasts, and an excellent location with lots to do. We've been coming here for several years and Victoria has always made us feel at home, and is very helpful with recommending restaurants for dinner. Choose The Tidewater for your next get-away... you won't be disappointed. More

This was our third stay at the Tidewater Inn. The proprietor, Vicky, is very friendly. She loves to talk, but even more she loves to cook, and she makes awesome breakfasts, something different every day. She also offers guests wine, cheese, fruit and conversation 5-7 pm daily. The inn is immaculate, the rooms are charming, filled with 4-poster beds and... More

I just stayed at the Tidewater Inn. As a single business traveler, this was the perfect option. Strong and free wi--fi signal, desks with good lighting in each of the guest rooms, delicious breakfast, and oh yes, the wine and cheese awaiting at the end of the day was just wonderful. I think all of this would have added up... More

Victoria, the innkeeper, is what makes this place wonderful. Not only does she take pride in the inn itself, but her love for the area can't be missed. We had never been to Connecticut and didn't have a chance to make much of a plan, but Victoria was interested in finding out about us and making recommendations to suit our... More

........because if you knew how great a time we had while staying there recently---you'd go too. And then------it'd be harder for us to get our next reservation------which I guarantee will happen as soon as possible. All kidding aside-------we intended to get away and blow off some stress and pressure-----and this B & B was the perfect remedy. The hostess couldn't... More

Thanks Victoria... Cant say enough. This was my choice for a B&B. Traveling to DC with my teen son. It was so comfortable and I really felt at home. My son said your breakfast was the best meal we had on our whole vacation. It was nice chatting in the evening with you. I would not change a thing. You... More

We stayed at the Tidewater Inn for two nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. Victoria, the owner, seems to have thought of every detail to make her guests stay a pleasant one. She has owned the Inn for 2 1/2 years, so disregard the less satisfactory reviews before her ownership. The breakfasts are excellent and unusual. There is plenty to... More
